1st Gup is an extremely important rank. This rank defines a students commitment, drive, character and self discipline. To achieve this rank means your instructors believe you to be worthy of Black Belt consideration. The burden of 1st Gup ranking is high but comes with many rewards. At this point in your practice you will be expected to excel in many areas while helping other students around you. Teaching others which is considered a very great honor will be required at this level.
